In Considering This Thanksgiving

Analysis & Observation, Human Psychology, Personal Log, Press Release Comments Off

Ladies and gentlemen I now presently suggest that those of us who do celebrate Thanksgiving and can do so that each and everyone of you remember both good times and family memories as a means of retaining both dignity and our humanity.

Attempting to find good anywhere at anytime does seem daunting in task especially when that being sought has seemed only existing from within, which as I see it creates a connection of equality between our species and that of our supposed divinity.

Meaning that if embraced, would prove empowering even to those of society with little or no assets.

In some way we are all slaves whether it be imposed by some higher authority or by our own hand through some addiction.

Pay taxes.

Purchase goods.

Renew licenses.

And there is your proof that in some way we are conditioned and controlled by society and through society, where perhaps the only remaining vestiges of freedom may be contained through freedom of thought.

Which may seem very little until you consider that nothing presently seen around us in physical form had existed until it was first thought of and then created through some manufactured process.

Even if that process had first involved blood, sweat, and tears.

Happy Holidays and thank you all for permitting me to share just a brief moment of your time.

Masque Of The Red Death

Environmental, Ghost Story, Pod Cast, Strange World Podcast, Strange World Radio Comments Off

The red death had long devastated the country.

No pestilence had ever been so fatal, or so hideous.

Blood was its Avatar and its seal — the madness and the horror of blood.

There were sharp pains, and sudden dizziness, and then profuse bleeding at the pores, with dissolution.

The scarlet stains upon the body and especially upon the face of the victim, were the pest ban which shut him out from the aid and from the sympathy of his fellow-men.

And the whole seizure, progress, and termination of the disease, were incidents of half an hour.

Enjoy this remake of a timeless classic and by all means Happy Halloween.

Sherlock Holmes vs. Dracula

Graveyard, Pod Cast, Strange World Podcast, Strange World Radio, Supernatural Comments Off

The year is 1890.

A ship is discovered adrift off the English coast, its crew missing, its captain lashed to the wheel, and its only passenger is a sinister black dog.

This impenetrable mystery is clearly a case for the inimitable Sherlock Holmes, but for the first time in his illustrious career the great detective is baffled.

Clearly the crew has been murdered and dumped, but what can account for the captain’s expression of imponderable terror and his acute loss of blood, or the ship’s strange cargo: fifty boxes of earth?

The game is afoot, and Holmes, aided as ever by the faithful Dr. Watson, finds himself on the trail of no mortal enemy, but the arch-vampire himself-Count Dracula!

Chupacabra With Chicken

Analysis & Observation, Cryptozoology, Cultural Archetypes, Personal Log 2 Comments »

Taco Bell Think Outside The BoxI was recently reminded how easily interchangeable something of one culture may interblend with that of another.

Recently while stopping at a local Taco Bell, I had attempted to pull a funny moment at the expense of their late night staff by placing an order for Mexican food which had included a “Chupacabra with chicken”.

Most of the time because of their training, they’ll automatically assume you meant a Chalupa and nothing more will be said. Which is kinda funny when you think about it.

But on a few occasions making such a request had resulted in some rather interesting dialog between myself and the restaurant staff, where it was shared that other customers having read or heard somewhere about the Chupacabra, had apparently confused the word when ordering a Chalupa.

And with chicken no less!

It has been reported across the United States periodic incidences of Chupacabra style attacks on live stock.

Should anyone seriously be in search of this elusive creature you may only need travel no further than your local Taco Bell.

The difference between a Chalupa and a Chupacabra are as follow.

Chalupa: Crispy, chewy Chalupa shell filled with seasoned ground beef, cool sour cream, crisp, shredded lettuce, a blend of three cheeses — cheddar, pepperjack, and mozzarella, and diced ripe tomatoes. (You can also upgrade this item with marinated and grilled all-white-meat chicken or authentic carne asada steak.) – Taco Bell.

Chupacabra: A creature reportedly first found in Mexico. Alleged to attack livestock such as goats and chickens through sucking them dry of blood. The name Chupacabra is said to mean vampire in Spanish.
