"rampant jealousies and underhanded competition"

Amen to that. I experience the same darn thing.

One important note you didn't mention are the "cliques". Just like high school, they've all got their cliques and if you're not in it, you're set on the outside.

Reading a lot of what I post I tend to see the cliques. The paranormal community has them as does the UFO community. Communities of any kind should never have clicks because they're just that - a community.

Society is organic. The ebb and flow of Nature within our confluency of consciousness is more than apparent. Nature of humanity is a paradox: while we look within, we see outside ourselves; all the while, what we “see” is our fear of the one question that begs truth. The carnal hunger and insatiable thirst for the answers we know we cannot have. I think, therefore I am… (have we met before?).

There is no reason to feel shame or pride, for these emotive thoughts - tangible feelings for most - are a setting sun from our past. A subterfuge of thunderhead clouds; a veritable storm waiting, building in climax, of precipitation and probable action. In other words, our intention is that we feed off the fear. We hunt ourselves within its grip. And when the climax is released - when the doubters and promotional artists of pain are done hunting, the objective is never met. Hence, the need to lash out upon an organization, misunderstood perhaps, such as Rochester Paranormal. The warrior has no burden; his load is light - and his journey is known to him. Fear is a tool which the astute soul makes his own and wields as a worthy weapon when necessary -

If a true leader is there, there will be a following of intrepid students. A true leader, not yet an alpha, will subconsciously welcome negative feedback from those who wait to attack. That is his or her intention, at least until they look in the mirror and begin to actualize the path they traverse. A true leader is comfortable in his or her own skin. Perhaps perceived “weakness” can be transmuted into a positive asset. Power has one face with many expressions; still it is one face, without gain. The soul needs nothing, yet it bleeds.

Or perhaps a passage from the Tao Te Ching would suit thy fancy:

Hold yourself back from filling yourself up, or you’ll tip off your stand. You can hammer a blade until it’s razor-sharp and in seconds it can blunt. You may amass gold and jade in plenty, but then the more you have, the less safety. Are you strutting your wealth like a peacock? Then you’ve set yourself up to be shot. You bring about your own disaster because you let it be known that you’ve got too much. Let go, when your work is done. That is the way…

Blessed Be.
