The southern tier region of Hemlock New York has produced some interesting ghost stories through the years. Usually occurring at night while people are traveling route 15A near Hemlock Lake which is heavily forested.

According to one witness, he had heard what sounded like a woman screaming from the woods. Upon investigating more closely what he found was no damsel in distress but rather the ghostly apparition of an old woman which suddenly had lunged at him from the trees scaring the witness so badly he ran for his life!

So after having shared his story with us did we make our way down south towards Hemlock, NY, to see for ourselves as to whether this had been a one time anomalous ghostly event or not.

There wasn’t found any screaming or lunging ghostly apparition from the woods but if this captured image is any indication, whatever it was that had scared this witness so badly had silently watched our every movement from the trees.

The classic Christmas carol of an old miserly crotchety old man, who after being owned by the ghosts of then, now, and what might be, after first introduction by the ghost of his seven year dead partner Marley, in perhaps sparing old Ebenezer his own chained burdened fate.

May Charles Dickens grant forgiveness on such tongue and cheek blasphemy.

This is truly a terrifying and disturbing story involving a child and its mother who move into a haunted home which also has a snowman.

I remember back through my childhood having created a snowman.

Actually through the years I had created several.

Some of which I could have sworn had moved.

And perhaps it did.

Especially when you believe that an inanimate object can possess a soul.

And since a snowman is created from the natural frozen elements of water it don’t seem so far fetch that it may hold more “spirit” than might be suspected.

This story is not for those who may be easily upset or may have recently experienced a tragic loss.

Tis the season to be howling.

Strangely enough even though this is the Christmas season almost everybody’s mind is on all things hairy and scary.

Werewolves in both movies and even recently reported by numerous cryptozoological websites have captured the public attention like never before. And especially when there are actual people making reports of having witnessed actual werewolves.

Thinking about it, there might now be some company for Bigfoot to play with unless people are mistaking an escaped chimp or Sasquatch sighting for an actual werewolf.

Either way people seem to be experiencing something frightening.

Something from legend.

For both fictional and non fictional stories about werewolves have long existed for centuries.

A subject which was also reflected through old time radio broadcasts.

So to start off our howl-a-day Christmas season I now present to you two tales of the werewolf.
